I need to know how your family does laundry! After 4 years of Candy and David doing our laundry...I'm on my own. I've made such a mess of our laundry! I need a routine! Please tell me how you get all your laundry done!
I seperate mine out into different color piles and everyday I do a certain color. Well except for Saturday, I try really hard to do no laundry on Saturdays. Mondays are for whites, Tuesday is for darks, Wednesday is for towels, Thursday is for reds and such, Friday is light colors and Sunday is when I do sheets. Hope this helps.
Amanda, that's a little creepy. I just put in whatever I can fit in my arms and carry to the washer and repeat until I either get tired of doing laundry, get distracted, or get done (the last one is very rare).
But because of your family size and such, Amanda's method might be better.
After I sort it I put everything back into the hamper in the order it is to be washed. And yes it gets put away the same day. I have a rack above the washer and dryer and I hang the girls clothes there. Alexis is in charge of putting away all of her own clothes and Anoe has to put her socks, panties, and night-nights away on her own. She can't reach the rod in her closet so I put them away for her. Maybe you could have a pile for each of the kids on the table or something for everyone to put up when they get home from school.
sort them... Whites, jeans, t-shirts lights darks blacks what ever and now since my washer is dead and gone I go to the laundy mat do them all at once.. I hate it but when I have a washer I do one load a day. 3 teenagers I have to do lots of laundy LOL happy Laundy
I wait until we need something then I wash a whole load of that color...if someone is low on white socks, we all get clean whites. We are almost always good on our yellows and browns since most of Kevin's work pants get washed (khacki colored slacks) get washed in those loads. I wash pink/red/purple together but in too different loads...normal fabrics, and fuzzy fabrics. I wash jeans as their own load, pink and red towels, blue and green and sometimes gray fabrics, darks, blue and green towels, etc. if you don't sort them the colors bleed and they will look old a lot faster or get nasty fuzz. I really detest laundry and usually have my 2 sorters full and a big hamper full most of the time. I seriously can't imagine what laundry for 7 would look like.

Amanda, does it get put away on the same day?
Actually, that wouldn't work for me because I don't have the space for it to be sorted all week.
Need more ideas!
YA I GOT NOTHING FOR YOU.....SORRY

I just leave them on the floor for days until I get tired of tripping over them :)

Have you figured anything out yet? I mean like a system or whatever that can help you?
